Tunisia is manufacturing its own scooters: they are unique!
Due to the international transportation crisis in an increasingly overpopulated world, alternative means of individual transportation, dubbed “micro mobility,” are booming in the world market. Within this context, Tunisian start-up VOLTAT has managed to manufacture the first Tunisian electric scooter in terms of design, manufacture, and used materials.
Equipped with an internet of things (IoT) app, the new scooter is made to be easy, fast, and effective. It is made mainly from carbon fibers to be light, robust, durable, and repairable at the same time. Its off-road suspension system allows it to adapt to Tunisian roads. It has 3 wheels for easy driving and self-balance for everyone, including those who have not learnt how to ride bicycles.
The website of the company describes Tunisia’s first e-scooter as “environment friendly.” It adds that the design is futuristic and that the scooter is equipped with 3-Disk brakes, a removable battery, and a large step board allowing it to carry of 150-kg load.
VOLTAT is at the level of fundraising to market this new scooter according to Wael Sghaier, VOLTAT’s CEO, who said in an interview with Successful Tunisia that this E-scooter is the first product manufactured by VOLTAT.
